Lingerie Lust List | 30.05.15

lingerie, underwear, bra, corset, luxury, fashion, blogger

Net-a-porter is one of my favourite websites to "window shop" and lust over and has been for a long time. I remember when I was a closet fashion-obsessed 14-year-old I used to click through the net-a-porter magazine every week religiously, as I found their style of editorial so inspiring.

Fast-forward 5 years and the luxury e-tailing site is still the first suggestion when I type "n" into chrome. And I have a new (and predictable) obsession. Holy sh*t, their lingerie selection is to die for. Totally out of my price range, but a girl can dream right?

Firstly, I chose this dusky grey bra from Heidi Klum. It has the underwiring of a balconette bra, but maintains the delicacy of a triangle bra with the scalloped lace and soft cup. The pink straps compliment the grey beautifully, and add to the feminine aura.

Next up, this triangle bra from Miu Miu. How could this not be on the list? Say sparkle, velvet and Miu Miu and I am all over it. Personally, I would not hide this beauty from the world by wearing anything on top. I'd pair it with shorts during the day, and transition into night by donning a pair of tailored trousers and heels. Et voilà - underwear as outerwear.

The star of this wish list would have to be the Demelza corset from Agent Provocateur. I can't tear my eyes away from it. The pairing of the cream and black is so classic, but the sheer panels and exposed boning is a modern touch. Perhaps the most seductive element of this piece is the lace panels at the base. They emphasise the hips, resulting in a womanly figure.

This triangle bra from Stella McCartney is so perfect for SS 15. Muted snakeskin print is everywhere right now, and it's a trend that I can willingly follow. The brown and orange palette is perfect for lounging around on holiday in. It'll look amazing with a tan and cabana bed linen.

This bra from La Perla had to be included for its amazing boning, which creates such a unique shape. It can be worn strapless as well, and the long-line shape hugs the ribs flatteringly. It would be super tempting to wear it on its own, with a pair of cigarette pants.

Finally, we have this lingerie set from Kiki de Montparnasse. The colour palette is romantic and elegant, and I love the naughty peeks of French lace. Just beautiful, a perfect example of how lingerie should be.

In The Roses

MISSGUIDED crop top | MISSGUIDED skirt | DR MARTENS boots | hoop earrings (similar @ ASOS)

This is my current favourite outfit at the moment, I have been wearing it non-stop. It's perfect for the current UK weather, which refuses to go above the teens (cry). The crop top shows a little skin, but is surprisingly warm and goes well with my high waisted faux leather skirt. On my feet are my trusty pair of DMs, which are different to the typical 8-hole 1460 style, but I love. I literally wear them with everything and they can get super beat-up, but I think it adds to their look.

LABELS I LOVE | Rose Powder

Rose Powder is a swimwear label, based in London (like me!) that produces beautiful, unique designs. Launched in July 2014, the brand focuses on print and are launching their  first lingerie collection later this year.

Here are some of my favourite pieces from the SS 15 swim collection.

Diamond Bikini
This design has a unique shape, as the bottoms are super high-waisted and held up by removable straps. It's paired with a bandeau top, which has rose detailing.

Love Butterfly
This bikini is great for injecting colour into your beach wardrobe. I particularly love the black straps on the briefs, which flatter the hips and highlight the butterfly design.

Peacock
I love the intensity of the Peacock print on the design, and the unique cherry strap. I think that one shoulder designs look super elegant.

Angelika
Lastly, I chose this two piece due to its flattering, retro shape. The briefs are high-waisted and the straps sit just off the shoulder. I love it white but it also comes in a variety of colours.

I'm lucky enough to be interning for the company at the moment so follow @therosepowder on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to catch my posts over the next couple of months.

STYLE STALKING | Met Gala 2015

So the annual Met Gala took place on Monday, introducing this year's exhibition, China: Through the Looking Glass. The Met Ball is arguably the biggest fashion event outside of fashion week, so naturally I was stalking it on Insta and Snapchat like the nerd I am.

Without further ado, here are my favourite looks of the night...

Met Ball 2015
Janelle Monáe
Monáe looks magnificent here in this orient inspired three piece. The white piping highlights the exposed midriff and the cape adds drama.

Met Gala 2015, Ball
Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen
The Olsen twins are pros at red carpet style and they lived up to their name on the night. I particularly like Mary-Kate's huge, shoulder-shrouding lapels.

met ball 2015
Amanda Seyfried
Amanda looks stunning in this white Givenchy gown. Love the structured detailing and the flash of leg.

Met Ball 2015
Jamie Bochert
This Marc Jacobs ensemble is to die for! Lingerie + feathers + sequins = perfection.

Met Gala 2015, Ball
Carey Mulligan
Simple yet oh-so-chic, Carey looks divine in this custom Balenciaga.

Met Ball 2015, Marc Jacobs
Xiao Wen Ju
This is a highlight for me, Xiao's petite frame pulls off this Marc Jacobs ensemble perfectly. The combination of check, tulle and thigh highs make my inner style animal very happy.

Met Ball 2015, Stella McCartney
Cara Delevingne
I've gone off Cara in the last year, but this Stella McCartney jumpsuit was too gorgeous to be left off the list. The tattoo-esque sleeves are a gorgeous addition.

Met Ball 2015, The Blonde Salad, Calvin Klein
Chiara Ferragni AKA The Blonde Salad
Representing the bloggers, Chiara looked stunning in this gown by Calvin Klein. Being the first blogger to be invited to the Met Ball has its pressures, but Chiara pulled it off so elegantly.

Met Gala 2015, Ball, Queen B
Beyoncé
And last but definitely not least is Beyoncé. That Givenchy gown and that body are both to be envied... ALL HAIL QUEEN B

And no, I'm afraid I wasn't a fan of Rihanna's fashion moment, but I loved her performance of 'B*tch Better Have My Money'.

WHITE OUT | May Wish List

wish list, lust, may, fashio, white, marbled, accessories

Recently I've been trying to branch out of my comfort zone of all black outfits, and add a little colour to my wardrobe. The result? Lots of white. Not exactly colour, but it's baby steps! Anyway, here are the products I've been lusting after for May.

I've had my eye on Superstars for ages, and I think May will be the month I finally buy these babies. I like the simple design, and how the logo isn't too in your face. They're super versatile as well, I'll pair them with a pair of mom jeans, a shirt dress or a school skirt.

I really dig the marbled trend, and so when I saw this macbook skin, I knew I needed it. I love unnecessary accessories (it's the Japanese in me) and this is a sleek way to update your laptop. It would also double as a good background for taking close-ups!

I've wanted a necklace like this for a while now, but the ones I've seen just haven't been right. Until this piece came along. It is the perfect shade of silver, giving a slightly antique look and has the right amount of heaviness to it. I would wear it over a band tee or a crisp white shirt.

The only jewellery that I bother to wear on a daily basis are a pair of statement earrings. I'm weirdly particular about the size - they have to be significantly bigger than my lobes. So when I found this marbled pair (notice a pattern?) from River Island, they went straight on my wish list.

I will work on colour next month, but for now... I'm all about white.
