TFW: Street Style SS16

So Tokyo Fashion Week happened recently, with an admittedly smaller media frenzy than the big four capitals. However, I have an interest in the event due to my ethnicity and obsession with fashion. So I'd thought I'd highlight what Tokyo does best, with a street style post. Here are my favourite looks from the week that I have compiled...

I love this oversized shirtdress, which is ankle length. She pairs it with a furry beret, indicating to it with her pose. The oversized theme continues with her choice of shoes. I also adore her hair, bleached and dyed to a mint green.

This look seems more european, with the use of neutrals and oversized shapes. Although the tied belt does have an obi feel. I particularly like the lace up 70s top, and the bomber precariously slung over one shoulder.

This look demonstrates clever layering. I love the cropped roll neck jumper with the buckled straps across the chest, holding up textured sleeves. Sheer black peeks out from beneath a pair of slouchy trousers, drawing the eye to the waist. The orange bag adds a pop of colour, matching her lipstick.

I love this pair's outfits. The gingham two-piece is super cute, and I love a pleated skirt. The circle choker is a perfect addition and I love the stompy black boots they both have on. The yellow tartan skirt her twin has on echoes Clueless, worn with a cropped white shirt. The innocent vibe compliments the leather harness, making it edgy not bondage.

This all-black look is a gem. A harness (see a theme?) adds interest to the long-line black shirt and I didn't think culottes could look this good on a man. I love how the converse, sunglasses and even phone case follow the all-black rule. And I want to steal that Saint Laurent tote.

This final look may be my favourite. The distressed ribbed top paired with a maxi skirt gives a modern edge to the gothic feel of the look. The accessories really elevate this look - the silver necklace and safety pin earrings make a statement, whilst the hat frames her head perfectly. The briefcase adds a polished vibe, and I love her circle frames, which even cover her dramatic white fringe.
