August Favourites

topshop mini bag, lush face mask, adidas superstars, oral b toothbrush, new look sunglasses

We are coming to the end of August and with its passing is the inevitable end of summer. Rather than dreading the coming winter months I've decided to celebrate the past month with a monthly favourites post.

1. TOPSHOP Mini V Panel Bag
blue mini handbag, ootd, fashion, accessories
This bag was actually in my July wish list, and my lovely sisters surprised me with it on my birthday. Since then it has been glued to my hand throughout August. Its size has forced me to reduce the amount of junk I lug around with me, saving my poor shoulder! I now have a more minimalist approach to my bag essentials, whilst channelling the mini bag trend.

2. LUSH Cup o' Coffee Face and Body Mask
beauty, face and body mask
I have been on the hunt for a mask for a while so I was pleased when I discovered this one from Lush. It's coffee flavoured and it's scent packs a powerful punch, especially when smeared over the face. This may be too much for some, but I love coffee so it wakes me up and lifts my mood when on. My skin is left soft and smooth afterwards, thanks to the exfoliating coffee grounds.

3. NEW LOOK sunglasses
cat eye sunglasses, huge sunnies, tortoiseshell, accessories, fashion, favourites
I picked these sunglasses up on a whim when I was in the Oxford Street New Look as they were only £6 and suited my face shape. I'm so glad that I did because I have been wearing them to death. Sunglasses are my current favourite accessory because they can elevate an outfit instantly. They also hide my face on a no make up day and give off a "don't talk to me" vibe on public transport.

4. ORAL-B Pro 600 Electric Toothbrush
blue electric toothbrush, teeth, dental hygiene, favourites, beauty
I have wanted an electric toothbrush for ages as I am a little obsessed with dental hygiene as I like keeping my mouth clean and teeth filling-free. This toothbrush cleans my teeth really well, with minimal effort (good for those of us who are a bit slow in the mornings). I found myself running my tongue over my teeth the first time I used this, marvelling at how smooth they felt.

5. Adidas Superstar Trainers

These trainers were a nightmare to order as I wanted to get the Junior size due to the significant difference in price to the adults. However the first site I tried to order them from ran out of stock, and the second (Isme - I don't recommend) left me waiting for 2 months before I received them. Despite the stress, I am so happy that I bought them. They're monochrome and super versatile - I wear mine with everything. The only downside is that they are beautifully white, meaning I won't wear them if there is the possibility of mud.

lace up, topshop, public desire, heels, denim shorts
One trend that I have been obsessed with this summer is Lace Up. Those of you who have been reading my blog may have noticed, from my post on lace up shoes in March, to features in my June and July Wish Lists. So I decided come up with a lil' lookbook on how I wear the lace up trend.

I have been wearing this outfit all summer, as it is perfect for hot days. The lace up crop top is an effortless way to wear the trend, and I've paired it here with denim shorts, which gives a casual vibe. Adding the mini bag and lace up heels elevates the outfit meaning that it can be worn to brunch.

This dress is soo gorgeous, I love its flowy shape and the flute sleeves, prompting the dramatic arm poses. Despite the long sleeves and black colour its perfect for the summer as the shape and lace up detail keep you cool. On my feet are these sandals from Public Desire, which are super comfortable and a versatile way to wear the trend. I would pair them with shorts or an A-line skirt if not this dress.

August Wish List

blogger, fashion, lashes, nail, lipstick, purse, lingerie

This month's wish list has unintentionally taken on the colour scheme of red and black, which doesn't scream summer but I like it! It's my birthday tomorrow so here's a massive hint to those who are last-minute gift shopping (not that I expect anything...)

I first heard of the brand Velour Lashes from the vlogger fashionista804, who does the most amazing eye make up. So naturally when she raved about Velour Lashes I needed a set. I chose this pair because I love a winged lash and it has the perfect balance between natural and dramatic.

Next up is this Christian Louboutin nail polish in the shade Rouge Louboutin, which is the same red they use on the soles of their heels. The bottle is super vampy and dramatic, the pointed cap reminiscent of a stiletto heel.

How cute is this card holder from Anya Hindmarch? The 'stop' symbol is an example of her traffic-inspired motifs from this collection, and seems fitting for a card holder. It's perfect for going out, as it can fit easily into a clutch or mini bag. I'd slot my oyster, debit card and ID into it and be good to go.

This lipstick from MAC is a gorgeous deep red with hints of burgundy. I swatched it last time I was in Selfridges and fell in love with the shade. I really can't have enough red lipsticks, and in a matte formula it'll be long-lasting as well.

I was browsing through the homeware section of the H&M app the other day and came across this beautiful tray. I have been on the hunt for one of these to display my perfume bottles. I love the shape of the rim and the mirrored base is a gorgeous detail. It would look amazing on top of a vanity or a chest of drawers.

Lingerie is always the perfect gift and I would be ecstatic to receive this delicate bralette from For Love and Lemons. The sheer cups are luxurious for summer and the appliqué detailing looks dainty whilst providing coverage.
