My Top Five Fashion Bloggers/Vloggers

Kayla Hadlington - www.kaylahadlington.com

I love this girl's OOTDs, as do many. She has a pastel/kawaii aesthetic to her style and blog, which I may not wear, but admire. I respect her dedication to the charity shop.

SoothingSista - YouTube channel

My favourite YouTuber, Stephanie's style is impeccable. She shares my obsession with thigh high socks, and has a grill (jealous). I am also in love with her drawling accent. Speaking as a half Japanese brit, it's hard to find role models of asian descent in western culture. Stephanie and her circle of friends (including clothesencounters and fashionista804) beyond fulfil this.

Feral Creature - www.feralcreature.com

Another of SoothingSista's friends, Eugenie is stunning and her style is perfect. I am also crazy jealous of her hair, and her Instagram is well worth a look (warning: you may be unsatisfied with your lifestyle afterwards).

Fashion Filth - www.fashionfilth.com
                YouTube channel

I discovered Lexi through her YouTube channel and spent hours watching her videos. Her personality is a bit kooky but really likeable, and I love her chic yet fun style. Her blog is equally good, and features fab OOTDs. She also has an amazing Chanel and Louboutin collection - luxury lovers, check her out!

In The Frow - www.inthefrow.com
                                 YouTube channel

Victoria's style is chic and fashion-forward, yet makes her ensembles wearable. She is very into pastel colours, denim and ankle-length coats. If you're looking for smart/casual inspiration, Victoria's looks are ideal. I actually met Inthefrow at London Fashion Week in February, and she seemed like a lovely person.

Coachella Festival Style

These past few days I've been stalking Instagram like crazy for Coachella. Besides suffering from serious FOMO and wondering how much tickets are for next year, I got loads of inspiration for summer/festival fashion from the various beautiful people that were lucky enough to attend. Here are some of my favourites...

Behati Prinsloo
Love love love the half corset that Behati is wearing here. She tones it down with simple denim cutoffs and a neutral palette.

Jourdan Dunn
Jourdan has never caught my eye before when it comes to street style, so I was pleasantly surprised by her Coachella looks. I love the fringing on her shorts and the all-over crochet look. She also proves that you can wear black in the summer.

Kendall Jenner
Admittedly, I am not the biggest Kendall Jenner fan but I couldn't fault this outfit. Love the thigh baring slits, neutral snakeskin and off-the-shoulder crop top.

FKA Twigs
I am a huge fan of FKA Twigs, and her style is unique as her music. The ballooning trousers paired with the sequinned bustier is a stunning combo. I also dig the brows.
Chanel Iman
Black on black on black, a bondage-esque bralette and fringing. Need I say more?

Rosie Huntington-Whitley
And finally, Rosie Huntington-Whitley posted this outfit on Insta. Nothing like a fringed white dress to scream festival chic. This particular one is from ChloƩ.

Tall Boots, Cover-Ups and a Mini Bag

The sun made an appearance today, so my sister and I went on a walk. I adore these thigh high boots, and it was finally warm enough to wear them without tights! We were messing around with the background etc, and then my sister threw her cardigan at me - I quite like the addition! But nothing beats the classic denim jacket.

Fashion in Motion: Grace Wales Bonner

Earlier today, I visited the V&A museum to view the Grace Wales Bonner presentation. It was part of the Fashion in Motion series, which makes live fashion experiences more accessible to a wide audience. Designers that have taken part include Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, and more recently Meadham Kirchhoff and SIBLING.

Grace Wales Bonner is an up-and-coming menswear designer, who has recently graduated from CSM and debuted her first season with Fashion East MAN AW 15. The show combined both her graduate collection Afrique and London debut, Ebonics.

I thought the presentation was beautiful, you could tell that the set had been considered, and the live church choir accompanying the fashion added to the drama. I loved the use of Swarovski crystals, and the heavy jewellery. I also appreciated how the clothing was androgynous without taking away from the masculinity of the models.

Overall I though the presentation was very powerful, both as an experience and a collection. Wales Bonner will be one to watch on the menswear scene.

Monochrome Wish List | 08.04.15

I was so shocked when I found these sandals in H&M that I had to call over my sister to be a second witness. I never thought that they could produce such unique, chic shoes. The marble print on the heel is the winning detail that makes these a must-have.

This leather halter from Young Hungry Free shouldn't work but it does. Wear over cigarette pants now or shorts in the summer.

This bondage-esque bralette from For Love and Lemons is to die for. The combination of black velvet, strappiness and comfort is right up my street. I'd wear it under a sheer top, or exposed with denim cut-offs come festival season.

I'm moving to a new flat in September, so I'm all about home ware at the moment. I particularly love framed prints and this one from Urban Outfitters is super cute!

I came across these mom jeans on Kayla Hadlington's blog and I fell in love. I've been looking for the perfect pair of distressed mom jeans for a while and these tick all the boxes.

I'm really into pale shades of subtle snakeskin at the moment, so this case from Urban Outfitters satisfies my craving. Plus I always need a new phone case.

When it comes to clutches, I favour simplicity. Its fussy enough to constantly hold onto it or wonder where you put it down this time. This black one from Zara is very simple, with a tassel zip, and the perfect size to hold a phone, lipstick and card holder.

Finally, I chose these thigh high socks, because anyone who knows me knows that they are a wardrobe staple. I always need to stock up on thigh highs, and I'm loving the sporty vibe that this pair have.

Happy Easter! My first official OOTD on the blog and of course I'm mainly in black. And yes, I am wearing a skirt from my uniform days but its not stopped me from wearing it all the time. I also love these thigh high socks because they have reds and greens running through the black, adding a little colour. And I adore my new boots from Public Desire, they make me crazy tall and lengthen those stems. And even though I'm showing some skin, I wasn't cold, proving that this is the perfect ensemble to transition into warmer weather.

April Wish List

fashion, wish list, dress, cat eye sunglasses, bralet, unif, topshop
TOPSHOP denim dress | UO cat eye sunglasses | YOUNG HUNGRY FREE bag | TOPSHOP bralet | UNIF lock choker

I've had my eye on this denim button down dress from Topshop since I spotted it on the website. Denim is huge this season, courtesy of the 70s trend. This is such an easy, laid back way to get the look. Its the perfect shade of blue and I love the huge pockets.

These cat eye sunglasses from Urban Outfitters are right up my street. The cat eye design actually suits my face shape (sunglasses mainly look cuter on my head than actually shading my eyes) and at £16 are a steal. The metal detailing and the blue tinted lenses add interest to the simple frame.

I've recently discovered the brand Young Hungry Free and was amazed at their chic products at low prices. This white backpack is simple and sleek, and the perfect size to store your essentials. I would throw it over a black denim jacket.

The lingerie I'm lusting after this month is this satin bralet from Topshop. I would wear it under a sheer blouse or pair it with high waisted trousers for a sultry evening look. Throw on a pair of heels and a duster coat and you're good to go.

Finally, I'm ending with this lock choker from Unif. This brand has such gorgeous, unique designs, but its way out of my budget *sob*. This choker has been haunting me, with its silver stacked chains and nautical lock.
